Hyderabad, Sept 14: Kalvakuntla Kavitha, an MLC representing the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has been summoned by the Directorate of Enforcement to participate in the inquiry into the Delhi Excise policy case on Friday, according to sources.

More than a dozen individuals who were involved in the scam’s cash transactions were also summoned, according to the sources.

Earlier this year in March, the ED summoned Telangana CM K Chandrashekhar Rao’s daughter K Kavitha in connection with the investigation into the matter involving the Delhi liquor policy.

She had previously been summoned to appear before the ED in the Delhi Excise Scam after it had been alleged that she was a vital component of the south cartel.

In December of last year, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) questioned Kavitha, a Telangana Legislative Council member, about the same case.

In the case, the ED has thus far filed five charge sheets, one of which names Manish Sisodia, a leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP).
