Gujarat, Aug 5: The Border Security Force (BSF) caught one Pakistani fisherman on Friday and seized five boats, in Gujarat’s Kutch district near the Indo-Pak border.

Earlier, Pakistani fishermen in the region had abandoned two fishing boats, which the BSF later confiscated.

Early this morning, as they patrolled, BSF soldiers noticed some fishing boats moving close to the international boundary. According to a BSF press statement, the BSF soldiers arrived at the location despite the high tide’s raised water level.

The BSF was able to apprehend one Pakistani person and capture five abandoned boats, while other fishermen were successful in making it back to Pakistani territory.

The announcement stated that nothing untoward was retrieved from the detained vessels, except from basic equipment and fishing nets.

Last month, the BSF detained four Pakistani fishermen and confiscated ten of their boats from the same region. At regular intervals, the security agency captures Pakistani fishermen and their boats from the stream area. While Pakistani fisherman frequently invades Indian waters in pursuit of a greater catch, Indian fishermen are prohibited from crossing the creek for security reasons.
