Jamshedpur, Oct 8: The body of a 26-year-old youth was found lying along a road under Manjhari thana area in West Singhbhum district, about 160 kms away from here on Friday morning.
The deceased was later in the day identified as Pratap Pingua, a resident of Debradih village in Manjhari.
As there are marks of deep-cut injuries in the deceased’s neck and head, it is suspected that he might have been murdered though the West Singhbhum SP, Ajay Linda said that the youth might have died due to a road mishap also.
“There was no trace of blood at the place of occurrence where the youth’s body was found this morning. It might be an accidental death also. We have recovered the body and sent it to the Chaibasa Samay Hospital for an autopsy for confirmation about the cause of death, ” said the SP.
The victim who was a small civil contractor had come out of his house along with four of his friends on Thursday evening but did not return home in the night. In the morning, his body was found lying near Jangiburu valley along the Singhabueu-Balandita road about five kms away from his house.
The family members have told the police that Pratap had gone out of the house by riding his bike which is missing and also missing is his smartphone.
The family members are learnt to have told the police that Pratap had no enmity with anyone as such, but the only bad habit he had was that he used to take excessive liquor.
The police are probing the death of Pratap in murder angle also and trying to find out with the four persons the victim had gone along with last evening.
