Bus crashes into bridge in Chattisgarh’s Raigarh, 26 injured

Raigarh, June 19: A bus carrying the passengers struck a bridge close to the Raigarh district of Gharghoda, Chhattisgarh on Monday morning, atleast 26 people injured from that, according to the police.

Officials claim that the incident happened after the bus driver allegedly lost control and rammed the bus against the bridge’s parapet wall.

“The incident took place near Gharghoda in Raigarh district on Monday morning,” Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Deepak Mishra said.

He said, “A total of 26 people were injured in the accident. Two of them are critically injured and have been sent to Raigarh medical college.”

More information is awaited.

Earlier on May 24, two people died and over 20 others were hurt when the city bus they were riding in crashed in the Raigarh district of Chhattisgarh.

Officials claim that the event happened at the Gharghoda-Charbhata turn in the Raigarh district. When the bus overturned while travelling from Lailunga to Raigarh, two of its occupants died instantly.
