BWF Rankings: Kidambi Srikanth returns to Top 10

Lakshya Sen, who secured bronze at World Championship in his first campaign at the event, jumps to 17th position.

New Delhi, Dec 22: Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth jumped four places in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, riding high on his historic World Championship silver. The 28-year-old from Guntur was rewarded for his final place finish in Huelva, Spain, by climbing to tenth place in the rankings.

Along with him,Young Lakshya Sen, who also won a bronze medal at the World Championships in his first appearance, jumped two places to 17th, while B Sai Praneeth fell two places to 18th. H S Prannoy also improved six places to 26th after finishing in the quarterfinals in Spain.

In the women’s singles, two-time Olympic medalist P V Sindhu is still seventh, while Saina Nehwal, who is recovering from multiple injuries, is 25th.

Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy dropped one spot to 10th in the men’s doubles, while Ashwini  Ponnappa and N Sikki Reddy regained their place in the top 20 in the women’s doubles.
