Ranchi, Jan 11: The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), New Delhi has declared the results of the CA Final and CA Intermediate examinations held for the November 2022 session. This time the pass percentage of CA Intermediate was more than that of the final, while in the three previous examinations, the intermediate result was less than the final.
The pass percentage of both groups in the final exam in November 2022 was 11.09. The final November 2022 result has decreased by 1.5 per cent as compared to May 2022, while, the Intermediate November 2022 result has increased by 7.26 per cent as compared to May 2022 result.
On the other hand, girls have snatched the three top ranks in the CA final. There are two girl students on the second rank and one girl student on the third rank. Girls are toppers and hold the first and second ranks in intermediate as well.
This time 12,825 candidates qualified for CA, out of which 41.36 per cent i.e. 5,304 are girls. ICAI’s Central Council member Dheeraj Khandelwal said the number of girls has increased.
Talking in this regard, Pankaj Poddar of the Poddar Commerce Academy said, “Girls have always performed well from Ranchi. However, the number of girls has been increasing year by year. This is because CA is more work-from-home friendly as compared to other fields. Girls would earlier have to leave their careers after they got married, however now they have the opportunity of working from home, and being both homemakers and professionals.”
“Another reason why the number of girls has increased in recent times is awareness. Earlier, girls and even boys would avoid CA because of several reasons including the time period that it takes along with the amount that they would earn. However, now, it is proven that even CA is a high-paying profession, and if joined in time, by the ages of 40-50, people can earn much more than in other fields,” he added.
Independent practitioner CA Deeksha Agarwal said, “Decade ago Finance, Audits, and Tax was mainly handled by men. This needed a change and if we consider current statistics more than 25 per cent of qualified Chartered Accountants in India are women. Now we need a progressive society where parents should equally support their children to achieve their aspirations.”
She further added, “My Congratulations to all the progressive families who supported their daughters in achieving their dreams to become Chartered Accountants and lead the world. To all the qualified female Chartered Accountants, I say congratulations and aspire to have an even bigger dream, to see yourself in leadership roles across the country and giving a strong and powerful voice to other women’s needs and concerns.”
