Ranchi, Feb 24: Jharkhand cabinet has given the approval to conduct the Panchayat election in Jharkhand. The decision was taken during the cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Hemant Soren on Thursday evening.
Briefing the media about the decision taken by the cabinet, senior IAS Vandana Dadel said that the cabinet has given its approval. “However, details about the proposed panchayat election can’t be disclosed at this moment,” she said.
The cabinet gave its approval to as many as 35 proposals of different departments.
For the recruitment under the cadre of Jharkhand Abhilekhagar, the government has made it mandatory that the applicant must have passed the 10th and 12th examination from any institution of Jharkhand.
The cabinet approved the proposal of the education department to give the benefit of the 6th pay commission to college and university teachers. A decision to modernize model schools was taken under which Rs 71.23 Crore will be spent to set up ICT lab and smart classes facilities in 84 out of 89 such model schools of Jharkhand.
Similarly, under Gyanodaya Yojana, the government will introduce computer education in middle schools for which a budget of Rs 58.16 Crore was approved.
To comply with the order of the Supreme Court to install CCTV at the police stations, the cabinet has approved the budget of Rs 78.8 Crore. The said amount will be spent on the installation of 5310 CCTV at 334 police stations.
The cabinet passed the solar energy policy under which subsidies will be provided to individuals for installing solar power systems. In another decision taken the cabinet decided not to give the benefit of subsidies in power consumption bills to such consumers who have power consumption more than 400 units per month.
An outstanding amount of Rs 117 Crore and Rs 361 Crore were approved for strengthening Ajay barrage and Gumani barrage restively.
