New Delhi, Sept 5: Five people were arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on Tuesday in connection with a bribery case, including the executive director of Gas Authority of India Ltd (GAIL).
The arrested individuals were involved in a Rs 50 lakh bribery, a senior CBI official said. The trap was set after a complaint regarding the situation was received. A bribe was sought in exchange for a GAIL project that the accused had committed to someone.
Along with other people who have been arrested, KB Singh, the executive director of GAIL, will undergo questioning.
“CBI conducted searches in Delhi, Noida and Vishakhapatnam at several locations,” the official said.
