Patna, July 27: The Central Bureau of Investigation detained Bhola Yadav on Wednesday in connection with the land-for-jobs scam. Bhola Yadav was a former Officer on Special Duty (OSD) for former railway minister Lalu Prasad Yadav.
According to sources, searches are being conducted by the agency in connection with the case at two places each in Patna and Darbhanga, Bihar. From 2005 until 2009, Bhola Yadav functioned as Lalu Yadav’s OSD.
Notably, the CBI is looking into allegations that Lalu Prasad Yadav, his wife, former Bihar Chief Minister Rabri Yadav, and their daughters Misa and Hema Yadav gave railroad positions to worthy individuals in exchange for cheap land.
Lalu Prasad Yadav is accused by the CBI of receiving financial benefits in the form of the transfer of landed property into the names of his family members in exchange for the appointment of replacements to Group “D” Posts in various Railway Zones during 2004–2009 while serving as the Minister of Railways.
The CBI discovered seven cases where it is claimed that employers hired applicants after their kin gave land to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s family.
