Ranchi, Jan.5: The CBI (ACB) filed a charge sheet against former executive officer of Khadi and Village Industries Commission Sunil Kumar.

In its 60-page charge sheet, the CBI charged Kumar under various sections of the Prevention of Corruption Act.

The CBI, in its charge sheet, has mentioned that Kumar amassed property worth crores while remaining on government post and invested it at different places. He purchased ornaments worth lakhs in the name of his wife and deposited heavy amounts in the fixed deposit accounts of other family members. He also invested in mutual funds.

An FIR was registered against Kumar in 2019. It has been alleged in the FIR that Kumar earned above 45 lakh more than his known source of income during his tenure as executive office in between October 31, 2017 to 2019.
