New Delhi, Sept 21: Niira Radia, a corporate lobbyist, has received a clean chit from the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) about her allegedly taped chats with important politicians, businesses, and media figures.

In order to investigate the content of the 8,000 or so phone conversations that the Income Tax Department had recorded as part of an investigation over ten years ago, the CBI had launched 14 preliminary inquiries (PE).

As no case could be established, all 14 PEs have now been closed.

According to the news agency ANI, CBI informs SC that it has found no criminality in its inquiry initiated against former corporate lobbyist Niira Radia into the contents of the transcripts of tapped conversations between Radia, politicians, lawyers, journalists and industrialists.

Following the disclosure of allegedly taped discussions between Niira Radia and her clients in relation to the 2G fraud, Niira Radia became the subject of criticism.

She then closed her PR firm, Vaishnavi Corporate Communications and its affiliates, which served a number of wealthy clients, including the Tata Group and Reliance Industries.
