New Delhi, Aug 21: The CBI has issued a lookout notice against Delhi’s Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia and 12 other people named in a First Information Report filed by the CBI on liquor policy violations, restricting them from travelling abroad, officials said today.
On Friday, the CBI conducted searches at Manish Sisodia’s home, who also oversees the Excise Department, and 31 other places spread across seven states due to charges of corruption in the liquor regulation system.
Meanwhile, Sisodia targeted PM Modi in a fresh tweet, saying, “all your raids have failed, nothing was found. Now, you have issued a lookout notice against me. What is this gimmick Modi ji? I am right here in Delhi, please tell me where should I come.”
On a list of 15 defendants listed in the CBI’s FIR, Sisodia is listed first. The 11-page document lists the following offences: corruption, criminal conspiracy, and account falsification.
Sisodia claimed on Saturday that the Prime Minister and the BJP-controlled government were “misusing the federal agencies against the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) since its work in the education and health sectors is being discussed internationally.
He said that the “high leadership” had given the CBI agents the go-ahead to search his home. Sisodia claimed that the centre sought to prevent Arvind Kejriwal, the leader of the AAP and the chief minister of Delhi, from challenging Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the impending general election in 2024.
