Patna, May 20: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Friday searched 17 locations linked to Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chairman Lalu Prasad and his daughter Misa Bharti in connection with a ‘land for job scam.’
Several places in Patna, Gopalganj, and Delhi are being searched, including those associated to Lalu, his wife Rabri, and their daughter Misa.
The CBI has named as accused Lalu Prasad, Rabri Yadav, Misa Yadav, Hema Yadav, and certain undeserving people who were provided jobs in exchange for land at a low price.
Notably, Lalu Prasad was the railway minister at the time of the fraud. In exchange for land, candidates were given jobs. Companies affiliated to the Yadav family have taken up prime properties in several districts of Bihar. A few candidates have testified to the CBI.
This comes after the RJD leader was granted bail in a fodder fraud case a few weeks ago. He’s already been found guilty in four previous cases involving the fodder fraud, and he’s also been charged in the fifth and final case.
