New Delhi, May 17: In connection with the suspected insurance scam, the CBI searched the offices of the former aide to former Jammu and Kashmir Governor Satya Pal Malik as well as eight other locations in Delhi and the Union Territory on Wednesday, officials said.
They stated that early this morning, CBI teams began a search operation at the ex-Governor’s aide’s home and other places.
The agency’s action occurs less than a month after Malik was questioned on April 28. His previous comment was made in October of last year after he finished serving his gubernatorial responsibilities in Bihar, Jammu and Kashmir, Goa, and Meghalaya.
The CBI filed two First Information Reports (FIRs) in response to allegations of corruption levelled by Malik about the awarding of contracts for civil work totalling Rs 2,200 crore relating to the Kiru hydroelectric power project in Jammu and Kashmir and a group medical insurance plan for government employees.
Malik stated that between August 23, 2018, and October 30, 2019, while serving as the governor of Jammu and Kashmir, he was offered a Rs 300 crore bribe in exchange for clearing two files.
