New Delhi, May 16: In relation to the land-for-jobs scam, the CBI searched the premises of RJD MLA Kiran Devi and Rajya Sabha member Prem Chand Gupta on Tuesday at nine different locations across numerous states, officials said.
According to them, the searches were carried out following the alleged involvement of the two leaders in the scam. According to them, searches were conducted at the homes of Kiran Devi and her husband Arun Singh in Arrah and Patna in Bihar, as well as at Gupta’s homes in Gurugram, Rewari, Noida and Delhi.
It is alleged that appointments were made in Central Railways in contravention of recruiting norms and processes while RJD leader Lalu Prasad served as railway minister from 2004 to 2009.
It is said that despite the fact that no advertisement or public notice was made for the employment, certain Patna citizens were given substitute positions at several zonal railways in Mumbai, Jabalpur, Kolkata, Jaipur, and Hazipur.
