Delhi | CBI to probe the role of erring DDA officials/ contractors responsible for poor construction quality of the Signature View Apartment in Mukherjee Nagar (built during 2007–2009 and was allotted to the residents in 2011-2012): LG Office

The DDA, acting on instructions from Lt Governor VK Saxena, has filed a complaint with the CBI to lodge a FIR against the DDA officials, contractors, and builders involved in the case as part of a massive crackdown against “corruption and negligence” at the highest level that has put hundreds of lives in danger in the structurally damaged Signature View Apartments.
The Signature View Apartment was constructed between 2007 and 2009, and occupants were given access to it in 2011 and 2012. Nevertheless, in just a few years, the building has lost its structural soundness.
Saxena, who frequently cites Zero Tolerance to Corruption, Probity and Accountability, has once more demonstrated his commitment to this philosophy. The action is intended to send a strong message from the L-G that any collaboration, wrongdoing, or negligence on the part of the officials will not be permitted, and that the interest and safety of the inhabitants are paramount.
The DDA conducted a vigilance investigation to determine the role of DDA officials in the case in accordance with the L-instructions. G’s The vigilance enquiry has established a “collusion” between the DDA officials and builders/contractors that resulted in “compromising the quality and structural safety requirement during the construction, thereby causing wrongful loss to DDA besides putting to peril the lives and property of hundreds of residents”.
