CCL signs MoU with Special Olympics Bharat for training intellectually disabled persons

Ranchi, June 24: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) signed an MoU on Friday with Special Olympics Bharat for conducting ‘The National Health Fest for Divyangjan- We Care’, under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav for 3 years under the CSR of CCL.

The proposed program will support in developing fitness and sports readiness for better performance and reduction in injuries.

The MoU was signed between GM (SD & CSR), CCL and Executive Director, Special Olympics Bharat, New Delhi in the presence of SS Lal, Chief Manager (Civil/CSR) and other officials of CSR Dept.

The project aims to empower persons with disabilities, which are by and large from poor sections of the society, by providing sports training and facilitation for participation in various national and international events.

Under this project, 500 persons with intellectual disability will be trained for a period of three years at Chatra and Latehar district of Jharkhand (one center per district) at an estimated project cost of Rs. 19.68 Lakh.
