Ranchi, Jan 2: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) signed an MOU with Child In Need Institute (CINI), Jharkhand on Monday for providing nutrition baskets (for 6 months) and support for mental well-being for patients with Tuberculosis (TB) in Latehar and Chatra.

Notably, primary beneficiaries will be 1,400 TB patients under treatment who have given consent for nutrition support in the NI-KSHAY portal of GoI. For this, State/District TB Cell will also support CCL in its efforts to identify beneficiaries under intimation to the concerned District Administration.

The Pradhan Mantri TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was virtually launched by the President of India Droupadi Murmu on September 9, 2022, to support patients undergoing TB treatment and accelerate the country’s progress towards TB elimination.

In order to provide additional patient support to improve the treatment outcomes of TB patients and leverage Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) opportunities, the Government of India launched NI-KSHAY portal-A digital platform for community support for persons with TB.

To augment its CSR support towards ending TB, CCL has registered as a Nikshay Mitra on the NI-KSHAY portal in September 2022 for providing nutritional care support for patients with TB in Latehar and Chatra.

This effort by CCL, through its CSR, is a positive approach towards its commitment to eliminate TB in these two districts.
