CCL wins Coal Minister’s Award in safety & sustainability

Ranchi, Aug 18: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL) bagged the award at Coal Minister’s Award -2021-22 in the safety and sustainability category during a function in New Delhi on Thursday.  

The Union Minister of Coal, Mines and Parliamentary Affairs Pralhad Joshi handed the trophy to CMD, CCL PM Prasad in presence of Coal Secretary Dr Anil Kumar Jain, CIL Chairman Pramod Agarwal and other dignitaries.  

General Manager of Dhori Area Manoj Kumar Agarwal and Magadh- Sanghmitra Area KK Sinha were also awarded on this occasion for their performance.

CCL was awarded second prize in safety and third prize in sustainability for outstanding performance.

After receiving the award, PM Prasad said that this award is a testimony of their deep commitment to safety, sustainable and eco-friendly mining, which is at the core of the mining operations. 

“The award is the result of the dedicated and committed teamwork of our employees and management, coupled with the some best practices being followed in the company,” he said.

Prasad further said that safety in operations is of paramount importance and they are committed to ensuring an accident-free workplace at CCL.

He added that CCL is committed to fulfilling the vision of Atma Nirbhar Bharat of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He further expressed his gratitude to Coal Secretary Dr Anil Kumar Jain and Coal India Chairman Pramod Agrawal for their guidance.

In the previous fiscal 2021-22, the company recorded the highest production and dispatch since its inception of 68.8 MT and 71.8 MT.
