Ranchi, March 17: Central Coalfields Limited (CCL), a Jharkhand-based subsidiary of Coal India Ltd(CIL), surpassed the previous fiscal coal production of 62.59 Million Tonne(MT) on 16th March, 2022 and produced 62.90 MT of raw coal. The company attained this feat with 15 days remaining in the current fiscal 2021-22.
Under the leadership of Union Coal Minister Pralhad Joshi and the guidance of Chairman, CIL Pramod Agarwal, CCL’s production is in an upward trend. The company is also getting full support from the Jharkhand Government as well as stakeholders for meeting the energy requirement of the Nation.
CMD CCL P.M.Prasad expressed his delight at the performance of the company. He stated that CCL is committed to ensure that there is no dearth of coal supply in the power plants, spread out in different parts of the country.
The CMD CCL and directors are visiting areas to motivate the workforce. They are also presiding meetings with Area GMs in virtual mode to extend all necessary support to them.
Spread across eight districts of Jharkhand, CCL is one of the largest contributors to the state exchequer of Jharkhand. The company is also implementing various CSR initiatives for the welfare of the stakeholders.
CCL has 42 operational mines spread over eight districts in Jharkhand. Some of the major mines are Amrapali, Ashok, Magadh, Karo and North Urimari mines.
CCL is concentrating on several initiatives to preserve the environment and ensure inclusive development of project-affected areas as well as its stakeholders.
The company is coming up with “CCL Covid Crisis Scholarship Scheme” for students who lost their either of patents or primary earning member of a family due to Covid-19 pandemic and residing in command areas of the company.
