New Delhi, Sept. 29: The central government has prolonged nationwide corona control measures until October 31 because the corona virus infection continues to be a public health challenge in the country. Union Home Secretary Ajay Bhalla warned in a letter to the chief secretaries of all states and union territories that there is a risk of non-compliance with corona prevention measures over the upcoming festive season, which could lead to an increase in infection cases.
According to Bhalla, daily corona infection instances and overall patient numbers are declining in the country very rapidly. But the virus is growing locally in a few areas and the epidemic in the country remains a public health challenge. According to him, in districts where the infection rate is high, the concerned administration should take proactive efforts to halt the increase in cases and control the virus’ spread.
It should be noted that after about 201 days, new cases of corona have reached below 20 thousand mark in the country. With this, the deaths due to corona in the country have also dropped to less than 200.
According to the sources, the central government is preparing to create a new record by giving 100 crore doses of the vaccine before mid-October. It is expected that this target will be completed between October 5th and 10th. On September 17, India had set a new record by giving more than 20 million vaccine doses.
