Ranchi: Leader of Opposition Babulal Marandi has said that the Narendra Modi-led central government is fully committed to eliminating Naxalism from India. He stated that the recent success of security forces in Hazaribagh proves that the mission set by Union Home Minister Amit Shah — to make the country Naxal-free by March 2026 — is progressing swiftly. Marandi saluted the bravery of the CRPF’s CoBRA battalion and state police personnel for their role in the ongoing campaign.
Appeal to Extremists to Surrender
Marandi urged those still involved in violence to lay down their arms and join the mainstream. “The path you have chosen is one of destruction, not development,” he wrote in a social media post. He stressed that the government’s goal is to free India from Naxalism by March 2026 and bring a new wave of development to affected regions.
Development to Replace Violence
According to Marandi, the government is working to transform neglected areas by building roads, schools, healthcare facilities, and employment opportunities. These initiatives, he said, aim to ensure that local youth are never forced to take up arms again, as prosperity and inclusion replace conflict.
