Chakulia, June 18: The mischief of wild elephants is continuously increasing in Chakulia block. Last night many wild elephants entered Jamua village of the block area. Elephants damaged the house of Kunu Munda and Reena Munda. During this time the family members stayed in their homes. Many wild elephants kept roaming in this village throughout the night.
According to the villagers, for the past one week, about 10 elephants are camping in the forests adjacent to the village. In the evening, wild elephants enter the village and start roaming in every street. Due to these elephants it has become difficult for the villagers to live. After dusk, the villagers hide in their homes. Life here has come to a standstill due to elephants. The villagers say that it is difficult to say when an elephant will take someone’s life here. It should be known that there are sal forests around Jamua village.
Here, in Chakulia’s Nagar Panchayat Ward No. 12 located in Nala Tola of Dighi village elephant also came at night and damaged the house of a woman named Nagi Soren. Nagi Soren saved his life by hiding in the corner of the house. After staying here for some time, the elephant went towards the forest.
