Chandil, Oct 1: After intermittent heavy rainfall, the water level of Chandil Dam has risen. To control the increasing water level, the authorities have opened each of the six radial gates of the dam by one meter. Even at 11 am on Sunday, two radial gates were opened by one meter each.

After opening the six radial gates, the water level of Chandil Dam is reported to be stable.

Due to the continuously rising water level, several displaced villages located on the banks of the dam are now facing the risk of being inundated. This has caused great concern among the affected families in Ichagarh village, as they fear that if the rain continues, their village might get flooded again.

The water level of Chandil Dam was recorded at 181.75 meters on Sunday afternoon.

There is a possibility of a dire situation once again due to torrential rains.
