New Delhi: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu praised the Narendra Modi government for its Union Budget 2025, calling it a visionary roadmap for a developed India by 2047. Addressing a press conference ahead of the Delhi Assembly elections, Naidu criticized the AAP government, stating that Delhi needs a double-engine government for inclusive growth and development.

Naidu, whose TDP is a key BJP ally, described the AAP-led Delhi government as a “half-engine sarkar”, claiming it had failed to deliver progress. He said, “Politicians must think about today, tomorrow, and the future. A government with good public policy can transform society.”

Naidu’s Take on Budget 2025

While Andhra Pradesh’s TDP and Bihar’s JD(U) played a crucial role in BJP forming the government, Naidu fully backed the Budget proposals despite criticism that Andhra Pradesh was sidelined in allocations.

“This budget reflects the vision for a Viksit Bharat under Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It prioritizes the welfare of women, the poor, youth, and farmers while identifying key growth sectors for the next five years,” Naidu said.

However, opposition leaders, including Congress leader Jairam Ramesh, questioned why Bihar received major budgetary benefits while Andhra Pradesh was ignored. YSR Congress leader B Rajendranath Reddy accused Naidu of failing to secure a fair deal for Andhra Pradesh despite having more MPs in the NDA alliance than JD(U).

Naidu’s Criticism of Arvind Kejriwal

Speaking at a BJP election rally in Shahdara, Naidu compared Arvind Kejriwal to his rival Jagan Mohan Reddy, accusing both of extravagant spending on personal luxuries instead of public welfare. Referring to the BJP’s ‘Sheeshmahal’ criticism of Kejriwal’s bungalow, Naidu urged Delhi voters to remove AAP from power, just as Andhra Pradesh had voted out Jagan Reddy.

“People are now more concerned about performance and quality of life than ideology. Poor residents of Delhi must decide if they want to continue living in slums or aspire for better governance,” Naidu remarked.

As the Delhi elections approach, Naidu’s direct attacks on AAP and his endorsement of BJP reflect the TDP’s growing alignment with the ruling party at the Centre.
