Vijayawada, Oct 19: The remand of Telugu Desam Party (TDP) chief N Chandrababu Naidu was extended by the Vijayawada ACB court on Thursday till November 1 in the alleged multi-crore skill development scam case.
From the Central Prison in Rajahmundry, Chandrababu Naidu was virtually presented before the court.
Several TDP leaders claimed that Naidu’s detention was a political “witch-hunt” and that the arrest was the result of false accusations. The former chief minister of Andhra Pradesh and leader of the TDP was arrested by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) on September 9 in relation to the multi-crore skill development scam case. This led to apolitical unrest in the state.
TDP members have been using demonstrations and candle marches around the nation to express their indignation and demand Chandrababu Naidu’s release.
