Dhanbad, April 23: The Chandrapura Thermal Power Plant (CTPP) is geared up for the DVC employee unions’ election to be held on April 28.
Over 642 group B, C and D grade employees will vote for the selection of their choice the union in the election. The union which will get the highest votes in Jharkhand and Bengal based on all thermal and hydel power plants will be declared a recognized organization of employees by the DVC management.
This time, three employees’ bodies: Shramik Union of Central Industrial Trade Union (CITU), Mazdoor Sangh of Bhartiya Mazdoor Sangh (BMS) and Kamgar Sangh of Trinamool Congress (TMC) are being considered the front runners in the election. Besides them, other unions are also contesting the election. Many unions are contesting in collaboration to try their luck in the election field.
Though the election would be held as per guidelines of the labour commissioner of Jharkhand and Bengal, deputy general manager administration (DGMA) of DVC Chandrapura unit TT Das held a meeting with concerned officers and unions leaders for conducting voting smoothly. He gave necessary direction to officers in this regard.
The official said that a total of three polling booths have been set up in Chandrapura Power Plant at Ambedkar Bhawan, DVC Canteen and DVC + 2 high School where 642 staff would cast their vote.
Additional director Dilip Kumar, joint director AK Chandrashekhar, Ajay Kumar Singh, Pramod Kumar Jha, deputy director Ravindra Kumar, manager Anil Kumar Singh, Sujit Kumar, Poonam Pandey, Akshay Kumar, Ram Kumar Dubey, Anil Gupta, Ravi Ranjan Singh, Amarendra Kumar Singh, Shahid Imam are in the committee to ensure proper election under the supervision of labour commissioner.
