Ranchi, Aug.17: A 10-member BJP delegation today met DGP A.K. Singh demanding arrest of party leader Rajendra Sahu’s murderers and measures to stop the rising crimegraph in the state.

The delegation comprised Chatra MP and BJP state vice president Sunil Kumar Singh, another state vice president and former Mandar MLA Gangotri Kujur, Hatia MLA and party state secretary Naveen Jaiswal, Kanke MLA Samri Lal and former MLA Prakash Ram, former MLA Janardan Paswan, spokesperson Pratul Shahdeo, state secretary Muneshwar Sahu, media in-charge Shiv Pujan Pathak, district general secretary Sunil Sahu and co-media in-charge Yogendra Pratap Singh.

During the meeting, the delegation presented a list of recent murders. The list included the slayings of CPM leader Subhash Munda on July 27, RSS worker Shankar Prasad on July 12, farmer Chamra Munda on July 23, and Shankar Prasad in Tundi on July 12.

The list also included the murders of Amarnath in Basukinath on July 28, Dhananjay in Jharia on August 1, Roshan Sao, an owner of a hotel, in Bhurkunda on August 6, Mukesh and Rohan Sao, owners of a juice shop in Chirondi near Ranchi’s capital, on August 11, and Rajendra Sahu in Palamu on August 12.

Chatra MP Singh said that general public was in panic due to increasing incidents of gang war, crime, murder, robbery, rape in the state. It seems as if the empire of criminals has been established in the state, he added.

“Criminals are getting successful in killing anyone fearlessly wherever they want. Far-flung villages, districts or the capital Ranchi are in the grip of criminals. Especially the Koylanchal area of Chatra, Latehar, Ramgarh, Hazaribagh, and Ranchi has become a den of criminals and shooters,” he said.

Kujur said: “Political and social workers are being targeted by criminals every day. The BJP leaders and activists, who exposed the state government’s loot, corruption and anti-people policies, are included in the hit list of criminals. Now the criminals are extorting money from the jail itself, threatening to kill them. The situation is so dire that even the MLAs of the ruling party are worried about their safety.”
