Chatra, June 5: Brave girl Kajal Kumari of Husia village in the Mayurhand block of the district will get Jeevan Raksha Padak. Regarding this, the SP, Chatra, Rakesh Ranjan has sent a recommendation to the police headquarters for awarding her with the Jeevan Raksha Medal. 13-year-old Kajal had saved a child drowning in the well by risking her life on May 7. The boy named Shivam Kumar, aged 03 years was the son of her elder sister who came here on vacation.
Sources said while playing near the well outside his house in the village, he fell into the well. Kajal who was nearby jumped into the well and hold the child with one hand and a water pipe from another hand. She kept shouting despite getting injured making villagers rescue the duo. The well was not having a guard wall which was the reason why Shivam slipped into it while playing.
Kajal who underwent treatment for several days now recovered. An 8th grader at Utkramit Madhya Vidyalaya in her Husia village, Kajal earned praise from everyone for this act of bravery.
Taking cognizance of the said case, Ranjan said he has sent a recommendation to the police headquarters to award Jeevan Raksha Medal for the bravery and indomitable courage shown by Kajal Kumari. Talking to Lagatar24.com, Ranjan confirmed recommending her name.
