Hazaribag, Nov 9: At a time when society sees most children considering their parents a burden, three sons in Chatra district presented an example by carrying them on a doli to the famous Maa Bhadrakali temple, 15 km away from their village.
Their act became the talk of the town with villagers saying that it is rare to see such bonding between parents and children nowadays, calling them as modern Shravan Kumar.
The three sons Lakhan Yadav, Sukhdev Yadav and Reetlal Yadav are residents of Chakravar village of temple town Itkhori. Their father is Degan Yadav (70) and their mother’s name is Gunjari Devi (65).
Lakhan Yadav said their elder brother Mahesh Yadav died after a prolonged illness a year ago. After that, the three brothers take care of their parents. “My father has suffered a paralytic attack and so he is unable to stand on his feet or even talk. My mother is also not well and can’t walk for a long time,” he added.
He further said that his parents wanted to visit the Maa Bhadrakali temple, a temple from the 9th century. But as it was not possible to bring them here even in a vehicle, the three brothers decided to carry them here on a doli.
“200 villagers also supported us when we started our journey on Kartik Purnima (Tuesday). It took us five to six hours to reach there and return to,” he added.
Lakhan said as they completed this journey successfully, a 7-day long Shrimad Bhagwat Gita Katha and Mahayagya has started in their village today.
