Chatra’s Kasturba school girl death case: Warden among 8 relieved from duty

Chatra, July 26: In the death case of a 12th grader of Kasturba Gandhi Awasiya Vidyalaya, Neha Kumari, under mysterious circumstances from poison, DC Abu Imran asked for a report in this regard after which eight, including the warden were relieved from their duty today.

On getting the news of Neha Kumari’s death after consuming poison, DC Abu Imran directed the District Education Officer Dinesh Kumar Mishra to take action as soon as possible as per rules on the negligent and involved employees of this school. He also asked Mishra, District Superintendent of Education, Abhishek Badaik and Block Education Extension Officer to submit a report about this incident within 24 hours by showcasing the school authorities.

District education officer Dinesh Mishra said following the instructions of the DC, warden Renu Kumari,  assistant teachers Neetu Kumari and Sangeeta Kumari, physical teacher Sunita Kumari, guards Sangeeta Kumari and Mamta Kumari, accountant Ranjit Kumar and fourth-grade employee Vasudev Saw of this school, have been relieved from their work today. We have showcaused the warden and a probe is also going on to reach to the facts of this case, he said.

Sources said Neha (17), a resident of Sinduwari Kala in Giddhaur breathed her last yesterday. Doctors declared her brought dead at Chatra Sadar Hospital on Tuesday evening. Her father Om Prakash Saw said her younger daughter Anchal Kumari (class-8th) also studies in this school and she had informed them that Neha was not feeling good. Even other girl students also informed about it to school management but in vain.

On Anchal’s information, parents made a call to school at 3:30 in the afternoon yesterday requesting authorities to ensure treatment of Neha who they said was complaining of stomach ache. But he said the school failed to take any action in this regard making Anchal to make a call to her maternal uncle in Gangpur village. When the relatives reached there, the school refused to allow Neha to go with them but when they insisted, permission came. Later, she was declared brought dead at Chatra Sadar Hospital.

Neha’s father said it is hard for him to forget how much painful the last moment was for her daughter.
