Jamshedpur, Jan 6: The winter chill has intensified across Jharkhand with plummeting minimum temperature. The weather got cleared today in most districts as the cloud cover got reduced. However, fog and mist prevailed in most parts of the state in the morning.
The forecast of IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre suggested a gradual fall in minimum readings by three to four degree Celsius in the next 72- hours thereafter no large change in minimum readings in the subsequent two days.
The forecast for the next few days indicated fog and mist in the morning and mainly a clear sky later. Weathermen said the chill got restored due to the free flow of the North wind.
The northerly and north-westerly wind was prevailing in the lower levels of the atmosphere.
Giridih recorded the lowest temperature of around 9 degree Celsius. Ranchi, Daltonganj and Deoghar too recorded similar temperatures. Jamshedpur and its adjoining areas recorded around 10 degrees. According to the forecast, the minimum reading is expected to witness a further fall in the next 48- hours.
