Chouparan, June 4: A large consignment of illicit liquor worth Rs 50 lakh was seized in Chouparan on Sunday. Station in-charge Shambhu Nand Ishwar told that SP had received secret information from Patna that illegal English liquor was being taken to Jharkhand on truck PB13BN-0352. It was first brought to Bihar from Haryana.
During the verification, that truck appeared near Mahudi turn. On seeing the police, the driver started speeding away the truck, which was caught near Sardarpur on GT Road. A large quantity of 690 cases of illegal English liquor of Imperial Blue brand was found in it. Along with this, truck driver Ravindra Kumar of Panipat, Haryana and Karnal resident Anuj Kumar were arrested and sent to jail.
