Chouparan, June 4: In Vrinda located in Rampur Panchayat of Chouparan block, the police launched a raid campaign against illegal country liquor. During this, the police destroyed more than 12 distilleries. Along with this, 100 quintals of Java Mahua, Mahua liquor worth lakhs of rupees, drums and many equipments kept in these furnaces were destroyed.
It is said that like Bhaghar and Bhandar, apart from Mahua liquor, spurious English liquor is also being made on a large scale in Vrinda. More than 100 Mahua distilleries are running in the surrounding rural areas including Vrinda.
