Jamshedpur, March 13: Clear sky and dry weather would prevail in most parts of Jharkhand today, said weathermen at IMD’s Ranchi Met Centre.
According to weathermen, no significant synoptic condition prevails over Jharkhand and hence no alerts have been issued for today.
The trough in westerlies from north Bihar to south interior Karnataka was today running roughly along 88°E and to the north of 22°N between 3.1 Km and 7.6 Km above mean sea level.
Met information during the past 24 hrs suggested that very light to moderate rain with thunderstorms occurred at isolated places over the state.
The highest rainfall recorded was 18.0 mm at Rajmahal (Sahibganj). The highest maximum temperature of 35.8°C was recorded at Jamshedpur while the lowest minimum temperature of 16.6°C was recorded at Garhwa.
According to weathermen partly cloudy sky in the northwest and adjoining central parts of the state is expected tomorrow while a mainly clear sky in the remaining parts of the state.
On March 15, light rain or thunderstorm is likely at isolated places over the north-west and adjoining central parts of the state while on March 16 partly cloudy sky with the possibility of rain or thunderstorm at a few places.
The Ranchi Met Centre also issued a sector-wise alert of thunderstorms and lightning in the state from mid-week.
