Ranchi, Jan 13: Closure of gyms in the district is no solution to saving the people from the threat of Covid-19, says a highly placed expert in the health department in Ranchi.

With the upsurge of Covid cases in the state, several restrictions have been implemented under which gyms were closed until further orders.

The Gym Association carried out a demonstration near Albert Ekka Chowk today against the order of closure of gyms.

During the demonstration, Prabhat Singh, Vice President of Gym Association said that gym owners are already facing the wrath of Corona and lockdown and the condition of the gym’s operators and employees has deteriorated.

“Once again the order has been heard to keep the gym closed till further orders. Now in such a situation, the question arises how the gym operators will bear such huge expenses and pay salary to their employees,” Singh said.

On the closure of the gym, a health expert said that closure of anything is not a solution to keeping the corona infection at bay. Though the gym is a place where infection can be caused, at the same time exercise is also important to keep oneself healthy and fit.

“Covid-19 infection has not stopped though several precautions have been taken by the state government and we cannot make it nil till the time it is totally irradiated by vaccinating each and every one. The closure of the gym is no solution to stopping the spread of the virus, but we have to follow the covid-19 protocols prescribed by the central and the state government,” the health expert said.
