Dhanbad, Sept 26: BJP state president and former Jharkhand Chief Minister Babulal Marandi today lashed out at Chief Minister Hemant Soren and said that rather than developing Jharkhand, he has destroyed the state.
The former chief minister, who was addressing his ‘Sankalp Yatra’ rally at Kuhuka Football ground in Nirsa block, around 38 km from here on Tuesday, said that the Hemant Soren government is going to complete four years but development work is seen nowhere.
“In fact, whenever the JMM, Congress and RJD coalition government has been formed in Jharkhand, corruption prevailed across the state at all levels,” he said. Even birth and death certificates are not delivered without a bribe, he added.
Babulal Marandi said that Chief Minister Hemant Soren claims he is being trapped as he belongs to a tribal community. “But the question is that whether a tribal chief minister should be given a free hand in ‘looting’ the state. All are equal before laws, whether he is a common man or a chief minister,” said Marandi.
He pointed out that on the one hand Prime Minister Narendra Modi is working for up gradation of poor people, and on the other side, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren is giving protection to corrupt persons. He said the people of Jharkhand know all of it and will throw him out in the 2024 assembly elections.
Dhanbad MP PN Singh, Nirsa MLA Aparna Sengupta, Ganesh Mishra, BJP rural president Gyanranjan Sinha and vice-president Jayaprakash Singh also addressed the Sankalp Yatra.
