Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren has taken a sharp dig at the central government over the prevailing petrol, diesel, and cooking gas situation across the country, making sarcastic remarks about PM Modi’s appeal to citizens to reduce fuel consumption and trim VIP motorcades.
Situation at Petrol Pumps Not New, Says Hemant
Speaking to media after a meeting at the Jharkhand Mantralaya, CM Soren said that the scenes visible outside petrol pumps today are nothing new and that this situation has persisted since 2014. He made clear that in his view, the current fuel crisis is a result of longstanding policy failures rather than a sudden development.
Sarcastic Remark on PM’s Appeals
Responding to PM Modi’s recent appeals to reduce VIP convoys and save fuel, Hemant Soren said with a note of sarcasm that the Prime Minister is the king of the country and people should watch what he makes them do next. He added that PM Narendra Modi is in the driver’s seat of the nation and the country will move in whichever direction he steers it.
