Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister and JMM president Hemant Soren will participate in the concluding rally of the Voter Adhikar Yatra in Patna on Monday. The grand rally is being seen as a major show of opposition unity, with several INDIA bloc leaders set to attend. The announcement was made by JMM’s central general secretary Vinod Pandey on Sunday.
Opposition Unity on Display
According to Pandey, the Voter Adhikar Yatra has shaken the BJP and NDA. The Patna rally, marking the culmination of the march, will feature prominent leaders including Congress’s Rahul Gandhi and Bihar opposition leader Tejashwi Yadav. Pandey said the event will highlight the collective resolve of opposition parties to safeguard democracy and resist BJP’s alleged attempts at voter suppression.
Allegations Against SIR Process
Pandey further claimed that the SIR (special identification revision) process is being misused as part of a conspiracy to benefit the BJP by removing the names of voters from disadvantaged sections such as the poor, backward classes, minorities, Dalits, farmers, and tribals. He stressed that the fight against this “sabotage” will continue.
Hemant Soren as a Pillar of INDIA Bloc
Pandey described CM Hemant Soren as a strong pillar of the INDIA alliance. He said when Rahul Gandhi’s voice was stifled in Parliament, leaders like Soren took to the streets to protect democracy and the Constitution. JMM, Pandey assured, will continue to support this movement wholeheartedly. He expressed confidence that the people of Bihar, like those of Jharkhand in 2024, will give a clear mandate in favor of the INDIA bloc in the upcoming state elections.
