Patna: In response to the recent hooch tragedy in Saran and Siwan, where 32 people lost their lives, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has taken a stern stance and conducted a high-level review meeting. Amid opposition criticism, the Chief Minister has directed the Secretary of the Department of Prohibition, Excise, and Registration to visit the affected sites, gather detailed information, and conduct a thorough investigation into all aspects of the case.

The Chief Minister also instructed the ADG (Prohibition) and his team to visit the location, conduct an in-depth investigation, and ensure strict action against those involved in the incident. Additionally, the DGP has been asked to continuously monitor the entire situation and take strong measures against the culprits responsible for the tragedy.

Appealing to the public, CM Nitish Kumar reiterated that consuming alcohol is harmful, not only damaging one’s health but also creating unrest in families and society. He emphasized that the state has implemented complete prohibition, and while the majority of people comply with the law, certain antisocial elements are trying to disrupt peace in the community.

The Chief Minister urged people to remain vigilant against these elements, stressing the importance of following the state’s prohibition laws to maintain harmony.
