Ranchi, June 21: The Coal India Limited has invited applications for a total of 1050 vacancies in four disciplines. These include 699 in mining, 160 in civil, 124 in electronics & communication and 67 in system and EDP.
Interested candidates may apply for the same from 10 am on June 23 to 11:59 pm on July 22. The notification released by CIL further reads, “Detailed instructions available on page of login portal on CIL website www.coalindia.in may be referred at the time of applying online application. Candidates, in their own interest are advised not to wait till the last date / time and register & submit their application well within the time. CIL shall not be held responsible, if the candidates are unable to submit their application due to last minute rush.”
As per information, the minimum requirements for the posts in mining, civil and electronics and communication include BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in relevant branches of Engineering with minimum 60 percent marks. Meanwhile, for system and EDP, candidates need to have BE/ B.Tech/ B.Sc (Engg.) in Computer Science/Computer Engg./IT or MCA, with minimum 60 percent marks.
In case of reservation, the mining department has 295 posts for general, 70 for EWS, 98 for SC, 55 for ST and 181 for OBC categories. There are no vacancies under disability criteria in the department. The civil department has 71 general vacancies, 16 EWS, 21 ST, 12 SC, and 40 OBC categories.
On the other hand, the electronics & telecommunication department has 52 posts under general category, 12 under EWS, 18 for SC, 9 for ST and 33 for OBC candidates. The system and EDP has 26 vacancies under the general category, 7 under EWS, 11 for SC, 5 for ST and 18 under the OBC category.
Candidates with disabilities may apply under the disability criteria if they fulfill certain requirements for the civil, electronics & telecommunication and system and EDP departments.
“Eligible candidates must have appeared for Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE – 2022). Based on the GATE-2022 Scores/Marks and requirement, candidates will be shortlisted discipline-wise in the ratio of 1:3 for further selection process. The final merit list will be prepared for each discipline on the basis of GATE-2022 Scores/Marks,” states the notification released by the organisation.
Candidates belonging to general / OBC / EWS category are required to pay a Non-Refundable fee of Rs 1000 plus applicable GST – Rs 180 totalling Rs 1180. SC / ST / PwD / ESM candidates / Employees of Coal India Limited and its Subsidiaries are exempted from payment of application fee. Application fee may be paid through online mode only.
The upper age limit is 30 years as on May 31, 2022 for general & EWS category candidates. Category-wise relaxation in upper age limit is mentioned below: Meanwhile, OBC have been given relaxation of three years, while SC / ST candidates have a five year relaxation in terms of upper age limit.
In case of persons with disabilities, general candidates have a 10 year relaxation, OBC candidates have 13 years, and SC / ST candidates have 15 years.
