Kolkata, Sept 7: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is conducting searches at the premises of West Bengal Law Minister Moloy Ghatak in connection with its probe into alleged coal scam case from Eastern Coalfields Ltd mines in Asansol on Wednesday.
According to the sources, the searches are being carried out at six locations, five in Kolkata and one in Asansol.
A large coal robbery scam is linked to Eastern Coalfields mines in the Knustria and Kajora regions of the state.
In November 2020, the CBI identified Anup Manjhi, the alleged mastermind behind the theft, Lara, ECL Chief Executives Amit Kumar Dhar and Jayesh Chandra Rai, ECL Chief of Security of Security Tanmay Das, and Kunustoria area security inspector Dhananjay Rai. and Kajor area.
