Daltonganj, Sept 7: The three accused of murdering a retired employee of Bokaro Steel Limited Dinesh Kumar Ram have been arrested and remanded in judicial custody on Tuesday evening, as informed by Palamu SP Chandan Kumar.
Ram was first duped of his Rs 23 lakh of retiral money and was later murdered by deception to cover up the fraud by the landlord and his two sons. The landlord had hired two Supari killers to commit the murder for a fee of Rs five lakh.
Palamu SP Chandan Kumar Sinha held a late evening press conference on Tuesday and announced the arrest of three accused of the murder of the retired employee. The 3 arrested have been identified as Santo Sharma, Abhimanyu Paswan and Imtiayz Ansari.
SP added that the two are at large identified as Mithilesh Paswan and his son Sonu Paswan.
About the case, SP Chandan Kumar Sinha said, “It was out and out a blind case. The deceased hailed from Rohtas in Bihar but was living as a tenant in Bokaro and he was found dead and abandoned in the Larmee jungle of our Chhaterpur police station on August 24.”
“The case was all the more blind as there was no eyewitness. The Chhaterpur police found a copy of the deceased’s Aadhar card on his body. The case was very challenging,” said Sinha.
“We have three places. First Rohtas in Bihar from where this deceased originally hailed from. Second Bokaro where he worked and retired from the Bokaro Steel Limited. And third, our Larmee jungle where our police found his body” added the SP.
As the case unfolded, the police knew the macabre tragedy gripping this man. His grandson died from drowning and after a few months, his son died of the shock of his son drowning. He was by then all broke. A widower himself, he lost interest in life and tried to settle in his home under Rohtas district in Bihar as narrated by the SP.
“At his house in Rohtas, the man faced a hostile daughter-in-law who further made his life miserable. The deceased left Rohtas and came down to Bokaro where he became a tenant of Mithilesh Kumar Paswan,” told the SP.
Here his landlord Mithilesh and his sons Sonu Paswan and Abhimanyu Paswan hatched a conspiracy to siphon off his bank balance which was pretty hefty.
SP said that the old retired BSL employee, already shattered with the deaths of his grandson and son and then the relentless attitude of his daughter-in-law, found in his landlord Mithilesh and his sons a sympathiser in distress and he erred badly.
The trio Mithilesh and his sons first duped him of his money through internet banking and then tempted him to get a woman for the widower. The deceased just walked into their well-laid trap.
The money was siphoned off within a fortnight, out of which 8 lakh was duped after the death of the retired BSL employee whose phone was in possession of Mithilesh and his sons and these three were continuing internet banking. Police have retrieved the cell phone of the deceased which is enough evidence to prove the crime.
SP said the trio offered this temptation just not to get exposed for deceitful withdrawal of the money and lure of a woman at the age of 73 was just that the deceased could not resist and he also could not sniff the deadly plan of the trio.
The deceased was brought to Japla and was taken down to Larmee jungle in Chhaterpur where he was killed by slitting his throat.
In less than two weeks, this case was busted which at the outset was looking all complex and complicated for any breakthrough reminded the SP. The officer in charge of the Chhaterpur police station Shekhar Kumar and his team did the most hard work to bust this murder case.
