Ranchi: A major road accident in Chhattisgarh’s Dhamtari district on Saturday afternoon claimed the lives of four personnel from the 201 Cobra Battalion, including one soldier from Jharkhand’s Palamu. One more soldier was seriously injured in the crash.
Car Crashes Into Stationary Truck Near Khapri Bypass
According to initial information, the soldiers were returning from Jagdalpur when their high-speed Dzire car rammed into a truck parked on the roadside near Khapri Bypass under Arjuni police station limits. The impact was so severe that the car’s roof was ripped off and the vehicle got stuck under the truck.
Rescue Operation After Soldiers Got Trapped
Following the collision, the soldiers were trapped inside the wrecked car. Local residents, with the help of police, carried out rescue efforts and managed to pull the victims out of the vehicle.
Palamu Soldier Mukesh Kumar Among the Dead
One of the deceased has been identified as Mukesh Kumar, a resident of Ranideva village under Haidernagar block in Palamu district, Jharkhand. As soon as the news reached his village, a wave of grief spread across the area, with family members and locals deeply shaken.
Villagers Remember Mukesh as Dedicated and Kind
People from the village described Mukesh as a friendly and duty-bound person. His sudden death has left the entire village in mourning, and his family is devastated.
