Ranchi: Jharkhand continues to reel under intense cold and dense fog, with daily life affected across several districts. The Meteorological Department has warned that temperatures may fall further by 2–3 degrees Celsius over the next three days, while foggy conditions are expected to persist during morning hours.
Fog And Cold Conditions To Continue
According to the weather department, light to moderate fog is likely to prevail in many parts of the state during morning hours till December 30. While daytime skies are expected to remain mostly clear and weather dry, cold wave conditions are likely to intensify gradually.
Temperature Trend And Forecast
Over the next 24 hours, no major change is expected in minimum temperatures. However, a gradual decline of 2–3 degrees Celsius is forecast over the following three days. On December 23, dense fog may appear in northern parts of Jharkhand, while northeastern and southeastern regions may experience dense fog on December 24.
Ranchi Weather Outlook
In Ranchi and nearby areas, moderate fog is expected during mornings on December 23, followed by clear skies. The maximum temperature is likely to remain around 23 degrees Celsius, while the minimum may hover near 10 degrees. From December 24 to 27, fog or mist is expected during mornings, with clear weather later in the day. The minimum temperature may dip to 7–8 degrees Celsius during this period.
Meteorological Factors Behind Cold Spell
The weather department stated that westerly to northwesterly winds are active at lower tropospheric levels, while western disturbances continue to influence the middle and upper troposphere. These factors are contributing to persistent cold and foggy conditions across Jharkhand.
