Congress issues notification for party president elections

New Desk, Sept 22: The Congress’ central election authority issued a notification for the party presidential election on Thursday.

The announcement, which was released by Madhusudan Mistry, head of the election commission, stated that the nominations procedure will run from September 24 to September 30.

The nomination papers would be reviewed on October 1. The deadline for withdrawing nominations is October 8.

In the case that there are multiple candidates, the election will be held on October 17. On October 19, results will be announced and ballots will be counted.

Ashok Gehlot, the chief minister of Rajasthan, and Shashi Tharoor, a member of Congress, have so far made their intentions known. Notably, after more than 20 years, the Congress will see a race for party leader.
