Ranchi, Jan 24: Congress MP Geeta Koda on Tuesday boycotted the public meeting addressed by Jharkhand CM Hemant Soren undertaken during khatiyani johar yatra in Chaibasa.

Soren had undertaken the khatiyani johar yatra to greet and tell the people that he had fulfilled his election promise to define a local on the basis of the 1932 khatiyan (nland records). Geeta Koda who happens to be chaibasa MP told lagatar24.com that since the yatra is named khatiyani johar yatra she felt it proper not to attend it as my voice on  the1964 khatiyan was not heeded  by the Jharkhand chief minister.

She said that she had earlier urged the government that the 1932 cutoff year is not correct to define a local in Jharkhand because in the Kolhan area the last land survey was conducted in 1964. So if the government sticks to the 1932 deadline almost all the people in the kolhan area would be declared outsiders, she maintained.  She said that she raised her voice in the interest of people in a democratic way so the government should take it seriously.

Geeta Koda who also happens to be the working president of the state Congress however did not elaborate her future course of action if Hemant Soren did not pay heed to her demands.

Notably, there was a rumor during the visit of home minister Amit Shah to Chaibasa that she will join the BJP.
