New Delhi, Jan 15: Santokh Singh Chaudhary, a Congress member who passed away from a heart arrest while participating in the Bharat Jodo Yatra, was cremated at his hometown of Dhaliwal in the Jalandhar district with full state honours.
Rahul Gandhi, a member of Congress, paid Chaudhary his final respects on Sunday. Santokh Singh Chaudhary was participating in the yatra with Rahul Gandhi when he unexpectedly passed out.

The Congress politician was transported in an ambulance to Phagwara’s Virk hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Following Chaudhary’s passing, the Bharat Jodo Yatra was put on hold for 24 hours. It will start up again Sunday afternoon from Jalandhar’s Khalsa College.
Rahul Gandhi on Saturday paid tribute to the late Congress MP and said he was “stunned with the sudden demise of Santokh Singh Chaudhary.”
