New Delhi, Nov 1: Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, will participate in the “Bharat Jodo Yatra” in Hyderabad alongside Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday for the first time. Kharge will arrive in Hyderabad in the afternoon and will accompany Gandhi on the Yatra’s evening leg.
Rahul Gandhi will be hoisting the flag from Char Minar on Tuesday, the location where Rajiv Gandhi, his father and India’s previous prime minister, launched the Sadbhavna Yatra on October 19, 1990.
Notably, since then, the Congress party has hoisted the national flag from Char Minar every year.
A public gathering will also be addressed by the Congress leader at the Indira Gandhi statue on Necklace Road in Hyderabad.
Today marks day 55 of the Bharat Jodo Yatra for Congress. On September 7, the Bharat Jodo Yatra began in Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu. Before starting the Telangana part of his yatra last week, Rahul Gandhi finished his marathon trek in Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, and Karnataka.
