Manoharpur: Bokaro Steel Workers INTUC Zonal Secretary Naval Kishore Singh has written a letter to Singhbhum MP Geeta Koda. It has been said that the condition of the laborers has become very pathetic. Due to irresponsible attitude of SAIL Manager and Civil Engineer the dispatch is closed for almost 5 months. Probably will remain closed even further, by making a shield NSPIL contract company is trying to retrench by giving legal notice to the workers.
The union has demanded the protection of the workers in time. Recently, under the leadership of the state cabinet minister Joba Majhi, the problems of bird mines, employment and laborers were discussed in a meeting held in the district collectorate between the district administration, forest officers, contract and cell managers and social workers. Chidiya mines have been given on lease not to earn profit but to provide employment to the local people. But SAIL and the contract manager are jointly exploiting the workers.
